The ant and the grasshopper story
Ants are social insects that have colonized every continent except Antarctica. They live in large colonies with a complex caste system and have some of the most advanced social structures of any insect.
Ants range in size from 1 mm to 30 mm. Their colors vary between species and often within the same species. Ants can be blak, red, brown, yellow, or green depending on their diets and environmental conditions.
Ants are important in many ecosystems because they act as decomposers, herbivores, and predators. They are also useful to humans as natural pest control agents in agriculture, horticulture, and gardening.Ants are one of the most common pests in homes and businesses. Although ants can be beneficial to humans, they can also cause serious damage to structures and property.
Ants have three distinct types of castes: queen, workers, and males. The queen is the only sexually mature female in the colony, while all other members of the colony (workers and males) are sterile females or neuters. Both male and female ants are winged but only queens fly out from their nests during nuptial flights to mate with male ants from other colonies. After mating, queens lose their wings and begin laying eggs by themselves within their new nest sites.
Grasshoppers are a group of insects that are part of the order Orthoptera, suborder Caliper. They have powerful hind legs which enable them to escape from threats by leaping vigorously. Grasshoppers are usually green and brown, but wings come in a variety of colors and patterns.
Grasshoppers tend to live in meadows and prairies, but do not hesitate to leap into your yard or garden if it is suitable for them.

A grasshopper was hopping about the meadow, chirping merrily to itself. Summer was drawing to a close, but the grasshoppers were still enjoying themselves in the warmth of the sun. The ant was busy gathering food for winter when it would be cold and dark.
“Shoo!” said the ant. “You are making too much noise! Go away!”
“But I am hungry,” said the grasshopper sadly. “I have not eaten all day.”
“Then you will have to learn how to work,” snapped the ant. “It’s no fun working all day long just so you can eat at night.”
The grasshopper sighed and went away. It did not want to work all day long just so it could eat at night. But there was nothing else for him to do except chirp and sing in the sunshine while he waited for winter to end so that he could eat again.
